Spreading Smiles and Warmth: Rotary Golden Seniors Diwali Celebration Charitable Luncheon Brings Joy to Senior Citizens

In a heartwarming display of community spirit, Rotary International District 3233 hosted the Rotary Golden Seniors Diwali Celebration Charitable Luncheon, a special event dedicated to senior citizens. Over 1,000 elders from across Chennai gathered for an afternoon filled with entertainment, music, food, and cherished memories..

The celebration took place at Aiyavoo Mahal, Aminjikarai, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., with active participation from Rotarians representing various clubs under District 3233. The initiative aimed to honor the contributions of senior citizens and spread smiles and warmth through acts of service and compassion..

A highlight of the event was a live orchestra performance, which revived golden old melodies, evoking nostalgia and joy among attendees. Guests also enjoyed an energetic and humorous address by renowned orator Pulavar Ramalingam, whose stories and wit brought laughter and fond reminiscence. Thoughtful gifts were distributed to all participants, adding to the festive spirit of Diwali.

The event was graced by Chief Guest, theatre personality and social activist Mr. S. Ve. Shekher, alongside Rotary District Governor Rtn. D. Devendran, several Past District Governors, and senior Rotarians. The luncheon was chaired by Rtn. Srikumar, who coordinated the program with a dedicated team of volunteers.
